Group messaging pet peeves
If someone is no longer relevant to a group conversation on a platform where they can't leave a conversation themselves, and no one thinks to remove them or start a new convo without them.
For example:
Say you're planning an event. You create a group convo with everyone invited. A person RSVPs that they regret they can't come. It's so rude if you just keep talking about how much fun the event is going to be, etc, while forcing the non-attending to either block you or feel left out.
Thankfully some platforms allow you to leave a conversation.
When it's a group conversation created for a specific purpose, it's really annoying when someone brings up topics that have no benefit to the purpose.
Continuing the example:
The event is a birthday party. You go back-and-forth with the invitees to work out the details. If someone were to bring up another topic, even if it's relevant to everyone, that derails the conversation from it's purpose. It would be better to start up your own conversation.
When you have an existing generic group convo, you shouldn't bring up a topic that isn't relevant in the slightest to some of the members. Being in a group convo with someone makes you "close" enough to message them privately!
