I'm Levi Breederland.
You can pronounce my last name with English rules (though technically incorrect, I won't complain), which sounds like my forefathers ran a dog-breeding business, or the correct way with Dutch rules, bray-der-lawnd, which means “wider land”. Apparently this name was picked by my ancestors in the 17th century because “wide land” was already taken.
I was born and raised near Vancouver, Canada, and have lived in England and South Africa before ending up back in Canada, at the very northern edge of what is considered the Edmonton area. My predominant cultural heritage is Dutch, and even though I was raised in Canada, I try to keep some of that sticking around. I have a decent understanding of the Dutch language and continue to work on it.
After attending various Protestant churches for since childhood, my family and I joined the Catholic Church. You can read more about our journey here. We have four kids and a dog who looks like she's wearing traditional clerical garb, so we say she's Anglican. We homeschool our school-aged kids and definitely register more on the “crunchy” end of the parenting style scale (proof right here).
While not working, I'm either writing here or on Twitter and Mastodon, reading something, dabbling in analog photography, brewing kombucha, helping out our church as a member of the parish council, biking, designing something for my Etsy shop, or hanging out with my family.

There's so many different ways to talk, but I prefer the ones above.

This site was designed and developed by me. It's powered by Joomla!, and yes, that exclamation point is part of it's name. This will probably be the one place where I remembered to include it. It's hosted on a Vultr virtual server, which is my favourite way to host a website, if you have the know-how.
